Some of you may remember my post on Zinker Spotting a few months ago when we visited Gettysburg over the winter holidays and I found one erected by the state of Ohio right across from General Pickett’s Buffet. I found another one while we were on our vacation, also in memory of an Ohio regiment – the 4th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. This one even has a statue on top.
This particular zinker sits on East Cemetery Hill in Gettysburg, across the street from Evergreen Cemetery. Once you know what a zinker looks like, it’s pretty unmistakeable that you’re looking at one.
It looks like it’s weathered fairly well, and everything is quite readable, but you can see some cracks forming at the base.
