The first time I saw this monument, it took my breath away. It was clearly designed with such love, and I wondered what tragedy could have taken the smiling little girl in the porcelain portrait. If she had lived, she would be my father’s age.
The entry on Find A Grave, seemingly entered by a relative, tells us that poor little Karen died of leukemia at her home in Eastlake, Ohio, before she even reached the age of 5. The individual who posted the entry also posted a close up of the porcelain portrait.
